DEITIES
DEITIES
Powers beyond all mortal imagination exist to shape the world of Shining Force. From lowly demigods to powerful deities of creation and over-gods, all play a role in the balance of the universe. More involved with the affairs of mortals than is often seen or expected from a god or goddess, the gods are locked in a struggle of good versus evil, affecting all who exist in their scope of power.

DEITIES OF THE LIGHT

MAJOR DEITIES

THE LIGHT (ZOD) (Lawful Good)
A creationary force or being, the Light is responsible for all that is good in the world, including
good deities. Not much is known about the light, as most mortals consider it a force or something
akin to fate as opposed to a deity in its own right. If any know anything about the nature of the light,
it would be the deities themselves. It should be noted that the name Zod is a regional term used
only in Enrich, in general.
Domains: Creation, Fate, Good, Healing, Knowledge, Law, Luck, Magic, Protection, Sun, Travel, War.

VOLCANON (Lawful Good)
Volcanon is a major deity, ruling over the primal force of fire. Volcanon is considered
responsible for the creation of the world and its inhabitants. His wrath is considered second to none,
and he is known to hold grudges, which made his ruse to Bowie's Shining Force all the more
believable. He is a patron deity of birdmen and phoenixes, as well as those looking to the purity and
cleansing powers of light as a fire.
Domains: Air, Creation, Fate, Fire, Glory, Good, Healing, Law, Protection, Retribution, Strength, Sun,
War

MITULA (Neutral Good)
Whereas Volcanon is considered a distant and often uncaring god, Mitula is a goddess whose
compassion is considered to know no bounds. Mitula concerns herself with nature, the oceans, and
life on the planet. Mitula is a motherly figure to all those in need, and it is not uncommon to see any
of the major races pay homage to her at some point in their lives.
Domains: Animal, Community, Earth, Family, Good, Healing, Plant, Protection, Renewal, Water,
Weather

MINOR DEITIES

ELBESEM (Neutral Good)
Relatively unheard of in much of the Shining World, Elbesem is a powerful innovator who
causes many others to pale in comparison. The prophet-child Gracia once channeled his spirit to
combat the forces of evil, displaying Elbesem's power as an emissary of the light.
Domains: Glory, Good, Knowledge, Mysticism, Protection, Purification

EVIL DEITIES

Major Deities

THE POWERS OF DARKNESS (Chaotic Evil)
Much like the Light, little is known by mortals about the Powers of Darkness. Numerous evil
beings, including Darksol himself, have cried out for power from this evil force. However, whatever
knoweldge pertaining to the Powers of Darkness exist, it is probably held only by the gods, and the
dark ones know the most, making such knowledge all the harder to obtain.
Domains: Chaos, Corruption, Death, Destruction, Domination, Hatred, Evil, Magic, Trickery, War.

ZEON (Chaotic Evil)
Arguably the strongest of the Devil Kings, Zeon won the bout for power between the three Devil
Kings, but was sealed away soon thereafter by the Darksol and Lucifer. Zeon is a being of
destruction and domination, with no respect to the natural order of the world, and he is symbolized
by his large, gaping maw..
Domains: Chaos, Destruction, Domination, Evil, Hatred, Hunger, Retribution, Strength, War

DARKSOL (Lawful Evil)
Where Zeon can be personified as the being of destruction and domination, Darksol is the
embodiment of twisted magic and craven intelligence. Darksol prefers to win his battles by virtue of
his intelligence and magical prowess as opposed to force of arms, and his followers tend to be
accomplished foul magicians of all sorts. As such, he is often considered the most intelligent of the
three Devil Kings. Darksol also has rather explicit access to the arcane arts
of necromancy, employing hordes of undead in his service.
Domains: Corruption, Death, Deathbound, Domination, Evil, Law, Magic, Mind, Undeath

LUCIFER (Neutral Evil)
Little is known about Lucifer, which says much about his talents yet nothing at all. Lucifer is
an embodiment of lying, cheating, and trickery as tools to sow chaos and discord. Evil rogues,
thieves, and tricksters of all kinds may be found as followers of Lucifer, though none will admit it.
Worshippers of Lucifer, and especially his clerics, may find some of his luck rub off on them, though
it may also come at a price. Lucifer's symbol is a foul, corrupted version of the Ancients' eye
symbol. A gash cuts across the eye, and its colors are putrid, symbolizing his distaste for all that
the Ancients stood for.
Domains: Corruption, Evil, Knowledge, Luck, Mind, Trickery

MINOR DEITIES

GALM (Chaotic Neutral) (Evil Subtype)
Though not necessarily an evil entity, per se, Galm is a Vandal, and he has self-imposed
himself against the creator. Galm acts as a balancing force, not wishing to involve himself in the
affairs of anyone or anything, but also wishing to see that no force becomes too powerful. Galm's
practices may be considered unethical by most, as he is not above rape or murder to achieve his
ends, but his actions are often part of some greater plan, generating wheels within wheels.
Domains: Chaos, Domination, Evil, Fate, Knowledge, Madness

IOM (Neutral Evil)
Iom is an evil entity whose powers range into the realms of the undead, human sacrifice, and
trickery. He often has hordes of undead at his service, and his taste for human blood is unquenchable.
Iom is often symbolized by an ornate eye, which is usually red. Followers, such as Warderer, may
emblazon the symbol on their belongings.
Domains: Death, Deathbound, Evil, Hunger, Law, Trickery, Undeath
