Racial Traits: -2 STR, +4 DEX, +2 INT, -2 WIS, -2 CHA.

Ratfolk are quick but skiddish and capable of solving

puzzles more quickly than most other humanoids.

However, they can be shortsighted and are not as

physically capable as other races.

Base Speed: A Ratfolk's base land speed is 30 ft.

Medium Size: As medium creatures Ratfolk have no

bonuses or penalties associated with size.

Low-Light Vision: Ratfolk can see twice as far as a

human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar

conditions of poor illumination. They retain the ability

to distinguish color and detail under these conditions.

Scent: Ratfolk are able to detect approaching creatures,

sniff out hidden creatures, and track by sense of

smell. Ratfolk can identify familiar odors just as a

human does familiar sights.
A Ratfolk can detect creatures within 30 feet by sense of smell. If upwind, this range

increases to 60 feet; if downwind it decreases to 15 feet. Strong scents (such as

smoke, rotting garbage, etc...) can be detected at twice the above ranges.

Overpowering scents (such as skunk musk and troglodyte stench) can be

detected at triple the above ranges. These scents mask weaker ones, however,

and can be used to confuse the Ratfolk's scent ability.
The detection of a scent does not reveal exact location, but only its existence within

range. The Ratfolk can take a move action to note the direction of the scent. If

the Beastman comes within 5 feet of the source of the scent it is pinpointed.
A Ratfolk with the track feat is able to track by scent.
Resistances: Ratfolk gain a +2 bonus on Fortitude saves to resist disease.
Skill Bonuses: +2 racial bonus on Climb, Listen, and Move Silently checks.
Automatic Languages: Common
Bonus Languages: Beastman, Feline, Gnome, Goblin, Halfling, Sylvan, Orc.
Favored Class: Rogue. A Ratfolk's rogue class does not count when determining
whether he takes an experience point penalty.
